An Evening Walk in the Western World

We will begin today with some introspection—an inner dialogue about our place in the world. Specifically, within the Western world, as this is my context and where my impulses originate. I embrace my culture, acknowledging both its positives and negatives, and the experiences I will share reflect both aspects.

In moving to our new home with Maria, I notice that many needs and demands arise from the imagined pressures of society, often centered around material goods. If you have them, you're fine; if not, you must acquire them, and if you can't, you're considered deprived. This greedy quest extends into various aspects of behavior, testing our endurance. However, the beautiful places we've created, especially those close to nature, remind us of our brief journey on this planet and its significance. Beauty is always nearby when we pay attention to it.

To alleviate the pressures of Western civilization, we decided to take an evening walk. We encountered smiling people and a beautiful tree, its natural beauty enhanced by a dazzling blue color. The intervention of man gave it a dazzling blue colour. The natural beauty of the tree makes it stand out. I wish you many peaceful and relaxing walks.

  1. Yes, the demands of existence in a Western culture are certainly many and often extraordinarily taxing. That you shared a quiet walk together and enjoyed peaceful moments are nothing less than wonderful things that people today rarely do. Instead, most busy themselves in frantic exhibitions of the many stresses they face, failing to enjoy the simple pleasures of peace and companionship as they do so.
